Ben Howard will headline Jozi‘s Sowing the Seeds Music and Lifestyle Festival and perform at Cape Town’s Kirstenbosch Gardens.

For the last few years Ben has toured relentlessly and each concert has been sold out.  Look out for his album ‘I Forgot Where We Were.’

The Sowing the Seeds Music and Lifestyle Festival started in Cape Town in 2008 by Seed Experiences as a teaser event to the hugely popular Rocking the Daisies Festival and quickly grew in stature. Since the phenomenal growth of Rocking the Daisies in the Western Cape, Seed Experiences saw a demand from people in the Jozi area who wanted a similar minded music and lifestyle festival closer to home. On Saturday 21 March next year, the 3rd edition of Sowing the Seeds in Jozi, will be held at Emmarentia Dam over one full day and promises to be bigger than ever before while still maintaining its appealing boutique festival status.

Local acts confirmed so far include Desmond and the Tutus, as well as afro-folk singer and performer Bongeziwe Mabandla. For more information, local lineup announcements

Amarula Gold Sparkles For Valentine’s Day

Say it loud, say it proud: “Be my Valentine” with a divine sparkling cocktail, made with Amarula Gold, the bold, gold, spirit aperitif with a flavour of its own.

Pink Gold with bottle (LR)

Amarula Gold is an adventurous new expression of the African Original taste of the wild-harvested marula fruit, like nothing you’ve had before. Fragrant, tangy and smooth, it has a 30% alcohol by volume and contains no cream.

Mix it with sparkling wine and discover its aromatic fruitiness and seductively spicy notes.

Otherwise, love it over ice, with soda, with Appletiser, cranberry juice or passion fruit. Anyway you choose, it will steal your heart.

Recipe: Pink Gold

 Serves one

50 ml Amarula Gold

125 ml dry sparkling wine (J.C. Le Roux Brut)

5 ml (dash) Cassis

Maraschino cherry or fresh berry to garnish (optional)

Pour the Cassis, followed by the Amarula Gold into a champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a maraschino cherry or fresh berry (optional).

Recipe: Red Head

 Serves one

50 ml Amarula Gold

150 ml cranberry juice

25 ml ginger ale

Ice blocks

Fresh strawberries to garnish (optional)

Fill a highball glass with ice, add Amarula Gold, fill the glass two thirds of the way with cranberry juice and top with ginger ale. Garnish with slices of fresh strawberries (optional).
